Land Acknowledgement for the First Nations of the BC coast

Yacht Master Class is based in Squamish, BC, on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw / Squamish Nation.

Our sailing courses take place on the lands and waters of Squamish, Átl’ḵa7tsem / Howe Sound, and the surrounding Salish Sea region. We acknowledge the Indigenous Peoples who have cared for these lands and waters since time immemorial, including the Squamish Nation and, where our courses extend through Howe Sound and the Sunshine Coast, the shíshálh Nation.

We are grateful to learn, work, and sail here, and we aim to do so with respect for the land, sea, culture, and communities connected to this place.
